St. Kiril & Metodij Church

St Kiril & Metodij Church is situated in the centre of the city, in the Park of Youth, and it is created by the architect Todor Paskali from Ohrid. It is made in Byzantine style, as a one-nave church, built of crushed stones with a bell tower out of the building. After 150 years of the construction of the last church in Veles, new churches have been recently constructed. The iconostasis of this church is 10m long and 5m high, made of steamed walnut tree and created by the outstanding Macedonian wood carver Ljubomir Basin. It shows Biblical motives. According to its architectural expression, the church represents one of the greatest sacral buildings.
