First Day

Start the sightseeing from the north part of the town, that is, at the entrance in Veles from the motorway, where at the very intersection you may notice the small churches (1) with drinking water. Opposite the churches there is a path to the Memorial Ossuary (2). It is a monument of the World War II. A great panoramic view of the town extends from there. Continue and move down to the ‘Varnalii’ settlement where you can see the small church ‘St. Gjorgji’ (St. George’s church) (3). It is an old part of the town where you can walk through the narrow streets and see old architecture and restored and protected houses (4). Going downward toward the river Vardar you will come to the old city core - the city Bazaar (5), bus station (6), Gemidžii Bridge (7), Gemidžii Monument (8). Here you can take a break and sit in some of the restaurants next to the river and enjoy the delicious food.
